All trends are bound to repeat themselves, & in the past, let’s say, four years it is like a flurry of decades have come onto the fashion scene all at once. The Great Gatsby has inspired a new age of 1920’s glamor, with dropped waist dresses and crystal encrusted hairbands. The hit AMC sitcom, Mad Men is also influencing designers to seek that 1950s Dior aesthetic, with full-skirts that hit at the ankle, and small waists pulled tight by pencil this skirts . Recently, I was inspired by Givenchy’s paisley print (http://redcfa.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Givenchy-PaisleyResort-2013-Shop-The-Trend.jpg ), and was excited for a new graphic pattern to carry into fall besides an “Aztec” theme.
To pull of the paisley print, its best paired with a solid color top/bottom. My personal favorite is the paisley all over shirt dress that stops above the knee. (see below). It’s a fun, & flirty style that looks well with pointed flats or for a more daring look try over the knee boots to elongate your legs. Now that’s sexy!
